Saline Twirlettes Scholarship Award
In January of 2003 the Saline Twirlettes board voted that the benefits of the Lori Potter Memorial clinic would be the start-up fund for the Saline Twirlettes Scholarship. The scholarship award will be given in the amount of $200-$500 each year to be decided by the director each year based on financial status. The scholarship will be awarded to every graduating senior that meets the criteria. The award will be given in August following graduation to be used towards furthering education; tuition, room and board, and/or books. The student must provide proof of their attendance to the educational institution.
The following is the scholarship criteria:
-Recipient must be a member of the Saline Twirlettes for all 4 years of high
school.
-Received a High School Diploma; GED
-Must be a current member of the KTN Twirlettes team
-Must be accepted at an accredited educational institution; college, technical
school, or community college
-Recipient agrees to try and return for baton clinic/camps to be held by Saline
Twirlettes.
The Saline Twirlettes scholarship award is established in memory of Lori Ann Potter, parent director of the Saline Twirlettes for eight years and dedicated promoter of the sport of baton twirling. Lori was always instrumental in recognizing not only the ability of the twirler, but the many other qualities within their personality that make them unique individuals. The values that are gained from Twirling, Lori saw as very beneficial making twirlers stronger teenagers and adults. The Saline Twirlettes Scholarship award will be presented at honored at the Saline Twirlettes spring recital.
