Jessica and Conner Potter-daughters of the late Lori Potter.
In June of 2001, the Saline Twirlettes lost their long time director, Lori Potter, unexpectedly and prematurely.Lori had been instrumental in the teams’ success and devoted endless hours to the promotion of baton twirling. She was Director of the Michigan Miss Majorette competition from 2000 to 2001, as well as the AAU Junior Olympics qualifiers for the Michigan area. Lori leaves behind two daughters, Jessica, 20 and Conner, 15. Conner continues her twirling career as a Saline Twirlettes national team members and high school majorette. Jessica attends Washtenaw Community College.
In memory of Lori, the Saline Twirlettes have decided to hold a Memorial event every year in her name.In 2003-07we heldinstructional clinics and this year continue the clinic to bring twirlers together to improve their skillsAlso in 2003 we started the Lori Potter Memorial Travelling Award to be awarded to an exceptional twirler who shows dedication and commitment. We were pleased to award Stacy Leatherberry as the 2003 recipient, Liesl Green in 2004, Lauren St. John in 2005, Bethany Lawson in 2006 and Brittany Brown in 2007. Stacy, Liesl Lauren, Bethany, Brittany along with Jessica and Conner Potter, will present the 2008 award winner. The Twirlettes use proceeds for, the TWIRLETTES scholarship, and donate in memory of Lori Potter to a charitable cause.
