Kids to National Team-
Twirlettes at July 4th Parade!
The Saline Twirlettes National Team will compete at the National Baton Twirling Association National Competition July 20-24 at Notre Dame University and Indiana University at South Bend. The Twirlettes will compete in 3 team events; Sr. Small Dance Twirl, Senior Halftime, and High School Majorette halftime. Twirlers will also be representative in the Beginner and Intermediate National pageants as well as the Miss Majorette of America Pageants. Dana Kalem will be in the Beginner Pageant while team mates Amber Reed and Sarah O'Brien will compete in the Intermediate division . Chrissy Houle and Haley Williams will compete in the Junior Division, Stacey Girbach in the Teenage divisiona and Mary Ciotta in the Miss College Majorette of America pageant. Nathan Magyar will represent the University of Michigan in the College halftime as well as the down the field event. Nathan will also compete in the Mens freestyle, Solo, 2 and 3 baton. Mary Ciotta will also compete in the Down the field event representing Purdue University. Mary will also compete in the College team event with her Purdue University twirlers.
Amanda Coy, Sidney Fletcher, Chrissy Houle and Stacey Girbach will represent the Saline Twirlettes competing the the Team Member of the Year event. These students were selected by their coach to give the best representation of the Twirlettes team.
The whole team will compete in the World open solo, struttting, 2 baton and 3 baton events.
The Twirlettes are excited about showcasing their NEW JUNGLE routine for 2009 and will compete this team the first day of national competition.

The Saline Twirlettes National team will compete at the Great Lake Regional Competition June 27th & 28th. The National team will host 3 teams this season; a halftime team, Sr. dance twirl, and Sr. Majorette team. The Halftime will be entitled" DO you know where you are? Your in the JUNGLE BABY! All twirlers will also compete in individual events.
The National team has practiced 61.5 hours as of June 26, 2009.

The Kids to Nationals Team (KTN) is a group of highly accomplished twirlers who commit to performing on the national level, developing team and more advanced individual skills, and pursuing team experiences and opportunities.KTN twirlers give this Team top priority and commit themselves to a unified goal: to excel as individuals and as a Team.Team members must practice on their own and exhibit a positive and strong interest in baton twirling and the KTN Team.The KTN Team was established in 1997 to provide a higher level of training and competition to twirlers wanting to dedicate more to the sport.KTN twirlers importantly set a standard for all Saline Twirlettes, now and in the future.These twirlers have a love of twirling.They work closely together to promote the best in one another by working hard, improving skills and developing as a Team.
KTN commitment will be made for returning KTN members in September of each year. A non-refundable commitment fee ($---) will be paid by November 1st ($---- will be applied to summer tuition).This commitment will be from September-July 31st of the following year.Making this commitment allows teams to be formed, practices set throughout the year, classes set, and performances scheduled.All new KTN twirlers will be asked to commit by mid January.A $---- non-refundable fee will be due at the time of the meeting ($----will be applied towards summer tuition).
Tryouts will be held for all KTN performance teams.Placement decisions will be made by the Director of The Saline Twirlettes.All decisions are final.KTN members that are not placed on a performance team may still compete in an individual capacity and are expected to follow all KTN guidelines.It is understood that a high level of positive participation is required for KTN twirlers and parents.
